The Ethos Foundation has joined Shareholders for Change, an engagement network that will allow Ethos to influence companies in areas such as climate change, labour rights and corporate tax responsibility.
Shareholders for Change is a network that “provides a collective engagement platform that allows smaller institutional investors dedicated to socially responsible investment to increase the impact of their engagement activities with European companies”, according to an Ethos press release.
Founded one year ago, Shareholders for Change currently has nine members with more than €23 billion in assets. The network provides its members with the opportunity to engage around three main topics: climate change, labour rights and corporate tax responsibility.
By joining the network, Ethos will be in a position to “reinforce its engagement activities with European companies on issues important to the Swiss pension fund members of the Ethos Engagement Pool International in their international equity investments”. According to Ethos, the engagement topic chosen by Shareholders for Change are similar to those addressed by the Ethos Engagement Pool International.
At the same time, Shareholders for Change will be able to support Ethos in its engagement with Swiss companies in the future.
