Our firm started as Care Group in 1997 as an environment consultancy. By 2001, the firm decided to change its focus to sustainability fund investments. To enter this new activity, the firm developed in close cooperation with Olaf Weber and Thomas Köllner, both Professors at the ETH Zurich, one of the leading international universities for technology and natural sciences, a methodology to quantify sustainability in mutual funds in a single figure, our sustainability rating, a pioneer landmark. We have constantly enhanced our methodology to reflect the development of the sustainability investment market.
As a proof of the concept the firm set up in 2003 the first fund of sustainability funds in Switzerland. The fund investing along our methodology outperformed its benchmark and its competitors both in terms of financial and sustainability performance. Starting in 2012, the firm decided to make available to the public, retail and institutional, its sustainability rating.
In 2014, the firm changed its name in Partners for Sustainability to add to its activities communication with the aim to be a platform and a forum for sustainability investments and issues accessible to all parties interested and active in sustainability from all economic sectors worldwide.
